One Week in Lisbon

One Week in Lisbon – And Suddenly You Never Want to Leave!
This city is addictive! Seven days, seven completely different faces – and by the end, only one question remains: why not just stay forever?
A weekend? Nowhere near enough for this city! Anyone who wants to truly experience Lisbon needs a full week. Three days for the city itself, four more for the palaces, beaches and dream towns just beyond it.
Day 1: Goosebumps in the Old Town!
The start alone is unforgettable. First up: Baixa. Completely rebuilt from the ground after the devastating 1755 earthquake, it now dazzles with grand squares like Praça do Comércio. Shopping lovers, meet Rua Augusta!
Then it's straight uphill – into Alfama! Narrow lanes, ancient houses, and right in the middle, the Castelo de São Jorge. Lisbon here feels like a time machine.
And when the sun goes down? Bairro Alto takes over! Fado music drifting from doorways, tiny bars on every corner – the whole street turns into one big party.
Day 2: Where Portugal Conquered the World!
Belém – this is where the story of the great explorers began! From this very spot, sailors once set off in search of routes to India and Brazil.
The Mosteiro dos Jerónimos! The Torre de Belém! The towering Padrão dos Descobrimentos! Stand here and you can practically feel history under your feet.
Next stop: Alcântara! At LX Factory, a dead industrial site was reborn as the coolest hangout in town – street art, design shops, coffee at every turn. Prefer it quieter? Hop on the legendary Tram 28 to the Basílica da Estrela instead.
Day 3: The Future Meets Pure Luxury!
Parque das Nações looks like another world! Built for Expo '98, it's a showcase of bold modern architecture. An oceanarium, a cable car, the city's tallest tower – incredible stuff!
Then a total scene change: Avenida da Liberdade. Designer boutiques, five-star hotels, manicured gardens – Lisbon's answer to the Champs-Élysées! Right next door: Príncipe Real, charming and unmistakably Portuguese.
Day 4: The Fairytale Palace That Leaves Everyone Speechless!
Sintra! This trip is non-negotiable – no debate! Palaces rise out of green hills like something straight out of a Disney film.
The star of the day: Palácio Nacional da Pena. Colourful, whimsical, jaw-dropping – a palace you simply have to see with your own eyes! Add the ruins of the Moorish Castelo dos Mouros and the mysterious Quinta da Regaleira with its underground tunnels. Goosebumps guaranteed!
Day 5: Royal Luxury in Cascais!
Once the summer playground of the Portuguese royal family – today the coast's most elegant star! Cascais blends grand villas with genuine fishing-village charm.
The beaches? Simply stunning! Praia da Rainha and its neighbours are made for lingering. Craving more of a thrill? Head to Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of mainland Europe! Or the surfers' paradise of Praia do Guincho, which pulls in wave-chasers from around the globe.
Day 6: Medieval Magic or Beach Day – Your Call!
Óbidos is impossible not to fall for! A complete town wall, cobbled lanes, white-and-blue houses – as if time simply stopped here.
Too hot for sightseeing? Hit the beach! Praia de Carcavelos is THE insider tip – huge, clean, brilliantly equipped, and just a short hop from the city centre.
Day 7: The Real, Unpolished Portugal!
For the grand finale, head where the tourists rarely go. Setúbal impresses with a mighty fortress and Portugal's largest covered market. Sesimbra, meanwhile, is pure beach bliss – famous for its seafood restaurants!
In between lies the Serra da Arrábida – one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in the entire country.
And Then? The Night Is Yours!
Friday or Saturday in Lisbon means one thing: no sleep tonight! In Bairro Alto, the whole street parties together until the bars close around 2am.
But don't worry – the night is far from over! It rolls on downhill to Pink Street in Cais do Sodré, where the party keeps going until sunrise!
Seven days, a lifetime of memories. Anyone who experiences Lisbon like this is guaranteed to book the next flight back!
