The Funchal-Monte cable car is the most famous cable car in Madeira and offers breathtaking views of Funchal Bay. With a journey time of around 20 minutes you reach the summit at 550m altitude, where you can enjoy the view and take incredible photos. The cable car has a fully covered cabin with large windows that allow passengers to admire the breathtaking scenery from the comfort of the cabin.
Where is the town of Monte?
The place "Nossa Senhora do Monte" was founded in 1565. Due to its privileged location, the place offers an impressive view of the bay of the city of Funchal. Monte is about 9 km from the center and 550 m above sea level.
