Explore Lisbon with Interactive Maps

Lisbon – This city rewards people who wander. A viewpoint appears at the top of a staircase, a tiled façade shows up behind a corner, and a bookshop that opened in 1732 sits next to a café where poets once argued. The difficulty is knowing where to look and what you are looking at. That is why we built a series of interactive maps of Lisbon. Each map covers one theme, shows the places on a real street map, and tells you the story behind every pin.

Pick the map that matches your mood. Walk through the lanes of Alfama, follow the murals of Lisbon's street art scene, plan your museum days, stroll through Chiado and Bairro Alto, look for the oldest shops in town, or find the best streets and markets for shopping.

What the maps can do for you

Every map works the same way, so once you have used one, you can use them all. Tap a pin, and a card opens with the history of the place, what to look for and a practical tip. Two buttons sit under each card. "Walk here" starts walking directions in Google Maps, and "Open in Google Maps" shows the place itself. Below the map, a tile for every stop lets you scan the whole list.

You can filter by type, narrow the list by district, search by name, or tap "Near me" to see what is closest to where you are standing. Each card also lists the nearest other places with approximate walking times, so you can chain one stop to the next. The maps work on a phone as well as on a desktop screen, which is how you will probably use them in the street.

All maps are free to use, and we checked the information in October 2026. Places that are closed or have moved are marked, so you do not walk across town to a locked door.
